As you can see, all the pups are thriving. Everyone's eyes are open
and they are beginning to walk. You can see that Bandit is a favorite
with the kids. He is very calm and snuggly. They each have their own
unique pattern of coloring and it is still not clear what breed the
father was.
Jenni is recovering well and has really come out of her shell. She is
much less timid and loves to explore our backyard in typical beagle
fashion when she is taking a break from her babies.

Jenni and her pups at feeding time

Octomber 10, 2007
Little Nina is no longer so little. She responded well to only a single day of bottle feeding.

Jenni is a rescued beagle from West Virginia. We are fostering her for
a local animal rescue group since she arrived here pregnant.
And guess what? She had seven puppies this morning!!!

Little Nina is smaller and weaker than the others. She'll need bottle
feedings to make it. Send a prayer that she will get stronger. We will
keep you posted on her progress.

A beautiful rainbow appeared out our back window as Jenni's labor
started.
A portent of things to come? |
